about

This song is about how we use social media to dis/connect to people. Short and heavy.

lyrics

we're all lotus eaters drowning our selves in pseudo pleasures
as leaches suck us dry
we are as well the leaches feasting on others
to survive

wing clipped and caged by our own accord
we escape into a state of hibernation
denying our pain leaving nothing but feelings
of alienation

we're all strangers
entangled
in a still force, a catatonic storm of violence
drifting further and further away
into a cold growing distance

in our sleeping state we build glass cathedrals
as fragile monuments of our damaged perception
feeding us with dreams and
perfecting the art
of self-deception
self-deception

in between our isolated catacombs
their is a ghost in the machine ripping children from their womb
"tabula rasa" in reverse
a twisted longing for the hearse

so disconnect and disappear
into a cold distance
let your damaged perception lead you to
diluted existence

let you colours fade
into an empty page
alone, desensitized
in apathetic rage

we ascend into a virtual mind
a pseudo active effort to leave the pain behind
an we become hollow
letting our blank screens show only the shallow

we project an empty self
onto virtual reflection
pushing our pains and hopes onto
the other side of the connection

connect to disconnect

tread down punch up
push it all away
don't let the phantom pain
stand in your way

tread down punch up
push it all away
don't let your true self
stand in your way
